Below is a chart showing the pricing of a few popular colour laser printers and copiers and approximate page counts where info is available. 5% coverage is the industry measuring stick, but will not always reflect your particular usage. 5% is approximately one third of a page of text with no bold or pictures. With drums and fusers coverage does not matter.
If you are looking at buying a colour laser because they have come down in price, keep in mind that it is not just toners that account for your running costs, but parts such as fusers, drums, waste bottles, etc. The HP 1600 / 2600 series is probably best value as drum is in the cartridges and there are no other consumables.
